Director's statement 'De Zaak Blok' (The Blok Case)

There was no script, no planning and no equipment when filming on De Zaak Blok started, and we worked on a shoe string budget. Fortunately we received a lot of help from Maarten's Support group and our friends in the film and TV branche. We hope that the story of Maarten's struggle for justice will help focus people's attention on the unjust trials that took place in Gothenburg after the 2001 riots. This is important because while shooting this film it became obvious that many people all over Europe still suffer from 'Post Eurotop 2001' stress.
